Welcome to the Music Site for Uhland Elementary's Music Program
All students in Uhland Elementary sing, move to music, read music, listen to music from across the world in many genres. There is the general class which all students Uhland students attend, in addition to the after school group, the UES choir, which meets once weekly.
Meet the Teacher:
Mr. Wilson Marks is in his 12th year of teaching elementary music and second year in Hays CISD and at Uhland! He uses the Kodaly approach to music literacy in the classroom and enjoys bringing a variety of instruments into play in the classroom, from drum circles to xylophones, piano and guitar. He studied jazz guitar in the greater New Orleans area and is active as a performing songwriter and band member in a variety of Austin area performing groups.
He has two amazing children and when not spending time with them, teaching or actively making music, he enjoys hikes, tacos, gardening, collecting records and traveling.
