Eligibility: Contest is open to elementary choirs and middle school non-varsity choirs.

Judges: There will be a panel of 3 judges in Concert and 3 judges in Sight Reading.

Adjudication: Each group will receive written critiques of their performances in Concert, including a number rating. The Middle School Division will also receive written critiques in sight-reading, including a number rating, while the Elementary Division can choose to do sight-reading for a number rating, critique only, or not at all. Awards will be based on number ratings received.

Copyright Rules: Only original scores should be presented to the judges, unless documentation of a music purchase can be provided. The director should bring 3 copies with the measures numbered in each score. Unpublished music is welcome, with the permission of the composer. Vocal and accompaniment parts must be written in staff notation.

Time preference: The Elementary Division will be assigned performance times from 8:30am-11:30am and the Middle School Division will be assigned from 12:00pm-3pm. Within those times, registrants can specify a preference by hour.

The Central Texas Children's Choral Festival was founded by the elementary music team of Hays CISD in 2012 to provide young choirs of Texas with performance and adjudication opportunities.
