Eyüb (Ubi) Yegen is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He has completed his Ph.D. in Finance at the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management where he was also an instructor of finance. Prior to his doctoral studies at the University of Toronto, he was studying at the Harvard University and the State University of New York.

His research focuses on the political economy of finance, corruption, corporate governance, institutional ownership, ESG, and asset management. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including the American Economic Review and the Review of Economic Studies, and featured by media outlets such as the Financial Times, Bloomberg, and Yahoo Finance. He has also presented his research at prominent institutions, including the United Nations–supported Principles for Responsible Investment.

Because the German "ü" may be rendered as "ue" or "u" in official records, his name may also appear as Eyueb Yegen or Eyub Yegen. He goes by the nickname Ubi.
