Interaction between Mountains and Glaciers

Position Description: The student will be digitally exploring the mountains of North East Canada to help understand how their heights have changed over time and how this may have affected glaciation. We will provide all necessary data and training to use software to visualize mountain height information, and work together to interpret this data.
Duration: 3 weeks
Work Hours: 10 hours/week
Pay Rate: $15/hour
Qualifications/Requirements:
no prior experience in the field is preferable
high school math useful but not necessary
computer (Mac or Linux)
internet
being able to make changes to files
complete a survey at the end of the project
All necessary software and instructions will be provided.
Opportunities to Explore the EPS Department:
The student would be welcome to join weekly Mitrovica group meeting and reading groups (and any seminars occurring over summer).
The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS) welcomes everyone and aims for a diverse and inclusive community. Preferences will be given to rising sophomores and incoming first year students, but we encourage all interested students to apply. Students who are already working with members of the EPS community are not eligible for this position.
