Our Team

Team 4509, the "Mechanical Bulls", is a FIRST Robotics team based at Lanier High School in Sugar Hill, GA.

Our mission

Our team's mission is all about fueling a dynamic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) community, igniting enthusiasm through engaging activities and extensive outreach efforts. Starting from elementary schools and reaching all the way to high schools, we're passionate about making STEM accessible and exciting for everyone.

Our journey begins by sparking the interest of young minds in the world of STEM, introducing them to the magic of technology and computational thinking using LEGO at the exhilarating FIRST LEGO League (FLL) hosted at the high school level. This early engagement sets the stage for a thriving future FIRST community.

Collaboration is key to our approach. We join forces with middle school STEM programs and team up with other GCPS groups, fondly called "GRAMPS" (Gwinnett Robotics And Manufacturing Partner Schools). Additionally, we're dedicated to empowering aspiring women in STEM by creating clubs like STEM Girls.

Our vision as a team is to create an inclusive environment that places a special focus on the newcomer and fosters a strong sense of community spirit.
