Standard Math:
Standard Math students will be working on the following AKS:
6.b approximate the probability of a chance event by collecting data on an event and observing its long-run relative frequency will eventually approach the theoretical probability (e.g., when rolling a number cube 600 times, predict that a three or a six would be rolled roughly 200 times, but probably not exactly 200 times) (7.PR.6.2)
6.c develop a probability model and use it to find probabilities of simple events; compare experimental and theoretical probabilities of simple events; if the probabilities are not close, explain possible sources of the discrepancy (7.PR.6.3)
6.d develop a uniform probability model by assigning equal probability to all outcomes and use the model to determine probabilities of events (7.PR.6.4)
6.e develop a probability model, which may not be uniform, by observing frequencies in data generated from a chance process (7.PR.6.5)
6.f use appropriate graphical displays (i.e., histogram, bar graphs, box plots, dot plots) and numerical summaries from data distributions with categorical or quantitative (i.e., numerical) variables as probability models to draw informal inferences about two samples or populations (7.PR.6.6)
Students are encouraged to complete 20 minutes of practice each day. IReady Math is also available to help students grow!
Accelerated Math:
Accelerated Math students will focus on these AKS:
Social Studies: This week, students will continue exploring the human geography of South and East Asia, focusing on religious and ethnic groups:
AKS 53a: explain the differences between an ethnic group and a religious group
AKS 53b: compare and contrast the belief systems originating in Southern and Eastern Asia: Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism, and the philosophy of Confucianism by comparing similarities and differences.
Unit 10 Summative Assessment on March 28th. Students are encouraged to continuously review key vocabulary.
Language Arts:
This week, students will work on the following reading AKS using the
