• Standard Math: We are now in Unit 4 Geometry.  For the next month, students will solve problems involving angle measurement, circles, area of circles, surface area of prisms and cylinders, and volume of cylinders and prisms composed of cubes and right prisms (7.GSR.5)

The focus for this week is solving problems involving angle measurements.  Students will use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles in multi-step problems to write and solve equations to determine the value of an unknown angle.

It is important that students review the vocabulary and examples daily, and be prepared to use the vocabulary in their speaking and writing about math.

• Accelerated Math:  Students will be starting Unit 5: Geometry, which will focus on solving practical problems involving angle measurement, circles, area of circles, surface area of prisms and cylinders, and volume of cylinders and prisms composed of cubes and right prisms (7.GSR.5) and solving problems involving the Pythagorean Theorem and the volume of cones, cylinders, and spheres to explain real-life phenomena

• Life Science: 

• Social Studies: This week students will begin the economic development of Africa. We will start by reviewing previously taught concepts including economic systems and the economic continuum. Students will then analyze the economies of Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
