October 10

October 10th is a mandated testing day for FVA Students at Fayetteville High School. Students in 10th grade will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT. They need to report to FHS by 8:30 a.m.

Turning the tassel

The FHS Counseling Department has published Turning the Tassel: Preparing for Life After High School. This resource guide is for ALL students and helps guide them through the college/career/life readiness process. For more information, please visit with our counselor, Saundra Colvin.

Attention students 9-12th grade. The following branches will be represented during A&E in the Phase III, 3rd floor commons area to answer questions you might have about military options:

  • October 9th: Navy and Navy Reserves
  • October 11th: Arkansas Air National Guard

The remaining testing dates for the 2018-19 school year are:

  • October 27
  • December 8
  • February 9
  • April 13
  • June 8
  • July 13

FHS Bowling team


Tryouts for the 2018-2019 Men’s and Women’s Bowling Teams will be held Tuesday Oct 16 and Thursday October 18th at 5pm. The location is: Ozark Lanes in Fayetteville, 2300 N College Ave. Students who have school sponsored conflicts on those dates (ex: athletic in-season practice) may participate in a make up try-out date TBD.

Tackle cancer t-shirts

FHS Cheer is selling Tackle Cancer T-shirts. You can purchase a pink or a white shirt to wear to the "Pink out" football game in October for Breast Cancer awareness month. Shirts are $10 and profits go to Komen Ozark. When shirts come in you can pick them up in room 2301 or at the football game. Order your shirt today!


Guided Study is an optional time for students to come in and work with the assistance and support of their teachers.

  • Tuesdays | 10:00 - 12:00 & 1:30 - 3:30
  • Wednesdays | 10:00 - 12:00 & 1:30 - 3:30
  • Thursdays | 10:00 - 12:00 & 1:30 - 3:30

Students may stay between sessions if they would like to. They may bring a sack lunch to eat and take a break in the back classroom.

There is no sign-up requirement for students to attend. We hope to see you there!


Our Internship Resource site is live and filled with some great opportunities from Fashion Week to Multimedia Journalism to Video Game Design. You decide your commitment level, and we will work with our partners to find the right experience for you. This could be a one-time visit or a year long internship.

Additionally, if there is a job field that interests you and it is not listed, please reach out and I will connect you with someone in the community.
