Theatre Arts 1: Intro to Theatre
This year-long course is a fun introduction to the world of theatre. You’ll get to know the roles of actors, designers, directors, and technicians as you bring dramatic stories to life. Through drama activities, you’ll explore your own ideas, relationships, and surroundings. You’ll also see how theatre connects to history, society, and culture, and learn how to evaluate performances like a pro.
Theatre Arts 2: Intermediate Theatre
Building on what you learned in Theatre Arts 1, this intermediate year-long course dives deeper into movement, voice, and character development. You’ll analyze scripts and learn about the rich history and cultural impact of theatre. You’ll also get hands-on with technical production, creating performances with monologues, duets, and group scenes. Plus, you’ll keep exploring your own ideas and relationships through theatre and hone your skills in evaluating performances.
Theatre Arts 3: Advanced Theatre
This advanced year-long course takes your theatre experience to the next level. You’ll explore different genres, production styles, and advanced acting techniques. Dive into technical production, working on costume, lighting, scenic, and prop design. You’ll bring your skills to life through various performances and continue to see how theatre reflects and influences history, society, and culture. And of course, you’ll become even better at evaluating performances.
This year, our Theatre 2 and 3 classes are combined. Students will receive the same lessons, but assignments will be based on their level.
