Nette Shultz Elementary School Counselor
WELCOME!
Hello Shultz Families! My name is Amelia Torres and I am the school counselor at Nette Shultz Elementary School.
Welcome to our new school year! Please be assured, we are here to support you throughout your journey this school year. No matter what challenges we face, we are committed to serving your child and making a difference in their lives.
A school counselor has many roles in the school, and one of my most important roles is to provide support to our school community, and that includes our families, students, staff, and more! Each day, I work to support students through learning that is rooted in social and emotional growth. Throughout the day you will find me supporting students in their development of healthy coping skills, understanding of emotions and feelings, self acceptance, conflict resolution skills, academic achievement, and so much more!

Denton ISD believes that all students must feel safe and secure in order to achieve their academic potential. Denton ISD employs a preventative approach to bullying through maintaining positive school climate. Bullying, harassment and other aggressive behaviors are conduct that disrupts both a student’s ability to learn and a schools ability to educate its students in a safe environment. Staff and students demonstrate appropriate behavior, treat others with respect, and refuse to tolerate bullying or harassment.
Denton ISD counseling and social work provides a variety of prevention and intervention services. Each campus recognizes the needs of staff, students, and the community. The counseling and social work department strives to provide services that support healthy development and academic achievement.
