Hello everyone!! My name is Paul Barnes and I teach 2nd grade at Cross Oaks Elementary!! Let me tell you a little bit about myself!! I have been teaching for 21 years and 16 years in Denton ISD. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade. I taught English for a semester in Mexico to 3rd and 5th graders. I love teaching because I am able to facilitate social, emotional, and academic learning in our future leaders!

I grew up on a farm in Gainesville, TX. We raised cattle. Growing up on a farm taught me responsibility and how to work hard! I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of North Texas. I have lived in Denton for 24 years! I have a wonderful and beautiful wife named Niki and a very sweet yellow lab named Beans! I love to travel, bicycle and cook! I look forward to serving you as one of our second grade teachers! We have a wonderful team that is going to do amazing things this 2024-2025 school year!!
