Mariachi
The Mariachi Los Raiders began in the Fall of 2021 as an after-school club and staring in 2022 it is now offered as a class at Ryan High School. In 2024, the Mariachi Los Raiders made it to the State UIL Contest, the first time the group participated in Mariachi UIL. This was also acheived in 2025.
This is an outstanding group of young musicians who enjoy performing different genres of music and learning more about the Hispanic culture which is rich in tradition and musical style. The group performs at local festival and school; events. Violin and Trumpet members must be a part of their RHS Band or Orchestra program. No experience is necessary for students who choose to learn guitar, vihuela, or guitarron.
We have big plans for Mariachi this year! If you are interested in joining Mariachi for the 2025-2026 school year, please email Mr. Atkins at jatkins@dentonisd.org.
