What is the Primary Years Programme?

The IB Primary Years Programme, for students aged 3 to 12, focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world.

In the PYP, our curriculum centers on constructing and developing student understanding around concepts that are timeless and have global significance.  We deeply believe that agency- voice, choice, and ownership- is a right that belongs to any learner in our building. We strive to use our state standards to support and develop an understanding of big ideas that transcend the traditional content areas and disciplines, leading to a transdisciplinary approach to learning and teaching.   We embrace input from everyone involved in our school community and feel that they, too, have a voice, choice, and ownership in the success of our students. These pieces come together to provide a forward-thinking education, equipping our students to influence the 21st century and beyond.
