Welcome Panthers!

I am excited to be teaching ART at Navo Middle School! I have been teaching at Navo since the school opened in 2006 and have truly enjoyed being a part of this outstanding learning community.

Educational Background

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Texas in Denton. While at UNT I specialized in Plant Sciences. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Texas Woman's University in Denton. As I completed my degrees I participated in many Fine Arts courses with a focus on drawing and design. In the last few years I have been expanding my Fine Arts and Art Education repertoire by participating in Art Education Masters courses at UNT and Professional Development courses through the Art of Education University.

Personal Information

I am a native Texan and have lived in the North Dallas area for most of my life. My husband and I celebrated our fifteenth anniversary this summer. I am a very curious person always in pursuit of knowledge and understanding, which goes hand in hand with my chosen profession as a teacher. I enjoy expressing my artistic creativity in a variety of ways including drawing and designing as well as photography. Some other things I enjoy include traveling, hiking, river rafting, going to the beach, gardening, cooking, watching movies (gotta get my downtime!), and spending time with my husband and my kitties.
