Canvas is our designated LMS (Learning Management System) for Secondary Students in Denton ISD. An LMS assists teachers in maintaining unity of learning platforms by enabling teachers to efficiently and effectively develop learning materials, deliver instructions/resources, and foster collaboration and communication between students and teachers.
The resources below are a great starting point to connect with your student and learn more about our chosen LMS, Canvas.
Parents can connect to their student's Canvas accounts to see their grades and upcoming assignments. This is called becoming a "Parent Observer". To do this, follow the steps below.
To link yourself to a student, you will need to enter a student-specific pairing code. Pairing codes are case sensitive and are valid for seven days. Students can generate pairing codes from their User Settings. For more information on pairing codes, view the Pairing Codes - Frequently Asked Questions.

Your Canvas information will look different depending on if you are using a web browser or app.
Desktop, Laptop, Personal Computer, etc.
Create Your Parent Canvas Account:
Make sure to select "Parent of a Canvas User" on the top right hand side of the log in box
Enter your personal email address
Create a password.
Enter your child’s pairing code.
Once you have the Mobile Application Downloaded:
Open the app, it will say “Find School”
Choose Denton ISD-Parents.
Either login using an account you created already, or choose “Create Account”
At the bottom of the screen, enter your child’s pairing code.
Got logged out or forgot your password from a previous year?
