Current Needs

By donating to the Denton ISD Library2Go Project, you will be partnering with the librarians of Denton ISD to provide literacy rich environments to students during the summer months. Multiple studies have shown that students who do not read during the summer months lose core reading skills and fall behind when they return to school (Nelson, 2018).

Currently 43% of the students in our district live outside the city limits, therefore, they must pay $50.00 annually to use the Denton Public Library. Transportation and access to a free public library can be an obstacle for them. Our bookmobile will be serving these students by providing them with quality reading material throughout the summer months in an effort to prevent the loss of reading skills.

We invite you to partner with us. Your tax deductible donation can make a difference in the life of a student this summer. Please help us meet our students’ reading needs.
