Students may bring one snack from home to eat during the class designated snack time. Students MAY NOT share snacks or food under any circumstance with others. Parents are welcome to donate class snacks if they are pre-packaged, factory sealed items (such as boxes of individual crackers etc.) Snacks should be items that your child can eat without any silverware and that do not create excess crumbs. Please see the list of examples of approved snacks.
It is highly recommended your child brings a water bottle to school each day. Please ensure that the water bottles have a closed lid with a straw.
If you would like to send treats for your child's birthday, please coordinate with your child's teacher in advance. Balloons, flowers, and other delivers are not allowed. Snacks may be dropped off in the front office. They can be treats such as store bought cupcakes, cookies, etc. Please provide napkins.
Please read the information in the links below and fill out the Denton ISD Volunteer Application.

7:30 - students will be dismissed to enter the classroom
7:40 - students are considered late if they are not in the classroom ready to learn
Cafeteria doors close at 7:40 for breakfast.
Younger siblings can be dropped off with the older sibling on the cafeteria side.
All bus riders & day care will be dropped off at 7:15am in the bus lane.
Al walkers and bikers are asked to enter through the front of the building so that their dismissal is from the front as well for their safety.
Please view the arrival map showing each of our drop-off locations. Arrival Map
All students will be assigned a car tag number. Please help your child memorize it and for younger children, it will help if they know what the number looks like.
Please view the Dismissal map showing each of our pick-up locations. Dismissal Map
Dismissal locations will be as followed:
Bus & Daycare will dismiss as they arrive at the side bus lane
Walkers will be dismissed from gym and the bus lane entrance at 3:10pm. Students are considered a walker when they walk home. We cannot allow parents to park in the parking lot or on Willow Thorne Dr. to pick up their child as that interferes with the safety and flow of dismissal.
Parents will pick up PreK-5th students by car at 3:00 pm each afternoon. Parents will remain in their vehicles during dismissal with their car tag displayed on the rear view mirror. A staff member will call your child down and will be escorted to your car through the cafeteria drive.
Changes to your child’s dismissal cannot be made after 1:30pm. Please notify the front office and the teacher to ensure this change is noted in a timely fashion. We have a high number of phone calls around dismissal time and students have made their way to the cafeteria for dismissal beginning at 2:45, depending on the grade level. Dismissal is a huge production and we practice for days so that all students understand the expectations and system in place. We ask for your patience the first few days as it may take longer than usual.
Car pick up is on the cafeteria side of the school. There is a purpose for the colored cones and there is a reason you remain on a particular side. Please remain in one line (front of school) until the staff member inputs your car number in the computer. This alerts the teachers on duty and the number will be placed on the cafeteria projector at which time your child will get in line to prepare to be walked outside by an adult.
