Hello, my name is Kelsey Hedrick and I’m so excited to be your child’s 4th grade English Language Arts (ELAR) teacher for the 2025–2026 school year!

This year marks my 10th year in the elementary classroom and my 7th year as part of the Union Park Elementary community, where I’ve had the joy of teaching 4th Grade English Language Arts (ELAR). Before joining Denton ISD, I spent three years teaching 1st grade in Richardson, TX.

Throughout my time in Denton ISD, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Guiding Coalition and Literacy Leaders teams, and I’ve also supported new teachers as a mentor and model classroom educator. I grew up in Keller, TX and earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma—Boomer Sooner! In May 2024, I completed my Master of Education in Literacy Curriculum & Instruction to continue growing as a literacy leader and to better support the students and teachers of Union Park.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my dog Jake (7). I also love traveling, hiking, completing jigsaw puzzles, cheering on OU Football, and—of course—reading!

I’m looking forward to meeting all of the 4th graders of UPE and having a successful year together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns — I value strong communication and am here to support you and your child every step of the way.
