Mrs. Bennett

Hi Coyotes!

It’s with great excitement that I begin my eighth year as a fifth grade teacher at Indian Springs! I will be teaching reading and writing to your eager learners. This is my 19th year in the teaching profession, and I am so lucky to get to do what I am passionate about every day.

I graduated from Concordia University in Austin with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught third and fifth grade in Pflugerville ISD for five years before staying home with two of my boys. Being home with my family was great, but I was soon ready to step back into the teaching world. Round Rock ISD hired me as a 5th grade teacher for 6 fabulous years before my family and I moved to San Antonio to begin a new and exciting career with Comal ISD.

My husband and I have been married for 21 wonderful years. We have three sweet boys that keep us on our toes everyday. Ethan is 19 and starting out at UTSA this year, Austin is an 11th grader at Northeast School of the Arts, and Jake is starting 4th grade right here at Indian Springs. Our dog, Rocky, is also an important part of our family. We all enjoy spending time together whenever possible working around life’s busy schedule.

My classroom is a very open and pleasant environment where the children will be actively engaged in fun and authentic ways of learning. I am delighted to have your child in my classroom and can’t wait to begin a new and productive year.

Sincerely,

Marie Bennett
