The historical background can be dated almost all the way to 1568. The structure "Il Gesù" was a church made for the Jesuits. The church was located in the middle of old Rome and was known as the “Mother Church”. The frescos on the ceiling made of a good material to draw and convey messages through drawings/carvings. The Church was designed by Giacomo da Vignola and built by Giacomo della Porta as well as Giovanni Battista Gaulli in 1568. This church was specifically designed for the Latin plan. The Church was designed with a single aisle and a dome over the nave. The nave and transept have a dome over it, while also being single aisled. The building Il Gesù includes flying buttresses, a very dark interior color, relying on sunlight more, an altar in the center, Corinthian-style columns, and a mix of styles between rational and Baroque.
