Kim Booher - Color Guard Consultant


Originally from Crestwood, KY, Kim began participating in color guard in high school. While attending college at Northern Kentucky University and earning her degree in Elementary Education, she began teaching various color guard programs in Ohio and Kentucky. For 15 years, Kim participated with the Onyx Winter Guard organization from Dayton, Ohio either as a marching member or a staff member. She also spent 5 summers as a staff member with Cincinnati Glory and Marion Glory Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. Over the years, Kim has served as a color guard adjudicator for various marching band and winter guard events along with participating in the MEPA, Tri-State, and OIPA color guard circuits in various capacities. She continues to serve as a color guard clinician, choreographer, and consultant.


​Kim moved to San Antonio in 2008 where she was the Color Guard Director at Judson High School for 9 years. Judson was named a WGI World Championships SA Finalist in 2013 and 2016 and has had multiple units achieve top 3 honors at TCGC championships over the years. In 2012, the Judson HS JV Guard was named TCGC SRA State champion and in 2013 the Judson HS B Guard was named TCGC Novice class state champion. She also spent 7 years as a staff member with Identity Winter Guard, the 2013 WGI IO World Champion from San Marcos, Texas. 


Kim is currently serving as the Vice President of Color Guard for the Texas Color Guard Circuit and has been a past Color Guard Task Force member serving on many different committees for the circuit. Since 2014, Kim has been the Color Guard Coordinator with the Texas State University Bobcat Marching Band. Go Bobcats! In April of 2017, Kim became the Color Guard Director at Winston Churchill HS in San Antonio, TX. Under her direction, the Churchill Color Guard was a consistent WGI Regional and Power Regional finalist along with TCGC State Finalists. In 2019, Churchill was named a WGI SA World Championships Semi-Finalist as well as the TCGC SNA State silver medalists. Most recently, Churchill was named the 2020 WGI Austin Regional SA Champion.
