ABSTRACT

Fuel consumption is a large cost factor to harvesting companies and varies from one company to another. A literature review was completed to collect published fuel consumption data for different harvesting equipment operating in various forest stands around the world over the past 30 years. Reported values were then grouped based on harvesting equipment and figures were made to display the information visually. This data shows the range of fuel consumption for common harvesting equipment and can help inform landowners about the variability of fuel consumption and associated cost.
