The graduates of Master of Science in Electronics Engineering after graduation shall:
successfully practice as electronics engineering specialist for the welfare and advancement of society;
demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in the workplace.
As a general rule, only those applicants who in the judgment of an admissions committee can benefit from graduate work and who can successfully pursue prescribed requirements for graduation shall be admitted.
Applicants with a bachelor's degree with and average rating of at least 85 percent or 2.0 in the entire program (except ROTC/NSTP) are eligible for admission to the master's program.
Applicants with a lower general average than the prescribed rating may be admitted to master's program on probationary basis, but may carry only a maximum of six (6) units per term. However, their status may change after having obtained an average rating of 1.5 in the first twelve (12) units.
Applicants who graduated from the baccalaureate degree program in engineering, science or related fields shall be considered eligible to the master's program subject to evaluation of the program admissions committee in ECE.
Applicants who graduated from the master's degree program in engineering, science or related fields shall be considered eligible to the doctoral program. Students who graduated from the baccalaureate degree program in engineering, science or related fields with exceptional academic backgrounds may be considered eligible for the straight-to-doctoral program option.
Applicants to the master's and doctoral programs may be prescribed remedial coursework to be determined by the program admissions committee as condition for admission to the graduate degree program.
For MSECE application, graduate of BS in Electronics Engineering or any allied-BS degree holders shall be eligible for admission subject to evaluation of the program admissions committee in ECE.
For PhD-ECE application, graduate of MS in Electronics Engineering or any allied-MS degree holders shall be eligible for admission subject to evaluation of the program admissions committee in ECE. Holders of non-research track Master’s Degree in the discipline will be required of bridging courses or application of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) upon evaluation of the program admissions committee in ECE.
For non-discipline and non-allied graduates, applicants must have some evidence of experience towards the field of ECE through RPL subject to the thorough evaluation and panel interview of the program admissions committee in ECE.
In the Straight Bachelor's-Master's (SBM) program, both the Bachelor's degree and Master's degree (thesis track) can be earned together. Students must be enrolled full-time and dropping of courses/subjects is not allowed.
In the Straight Master's-Doctoral (SMD) program, both the Master's and Doctoral degrees can be earned together. Students must be enrolled full-time and dropping of courses is not allowed.
All applicants for admission should submit the following placed in a long brown envelope with the applicant’s name written in front:
Filled up Application for Admission Form (BatStateU-FO-CEAFA-02)
Original and one certified true copy of official Transcript of Record (TOR)
Two sealed Letter of Recommendations (for MS and PhD applicants). (BatStateU-FO-CEAFA-03)
Personal Statement Containing Academic & Career Objectives
Two 2”x2” photograph taken within the last six months
Original NSO/PSA Birth Certificate
Photocopy of NSO/PSA Marriage Certificate for female applicants
Transfer Credentials or Honorable Dismissal
Notice of passing/ Test Permit
Photocopy of research outputs (for PhD applicants)
Study Visa (for foreign students)
All pertinent documents to the application submitted become part of the university files and will not be returned to the applicant.
Foreign applicants need to submit result of English proficiency examination or certification of English proficiency from recognized authority and CHED authenticated transcripts of records.
All applicants for the MS and PHD program must pass the Graduate School Admission test.
The admission to the graduate programs in CEAFA constitutes two processes:
Evaluation and Approval of the program admissions committee
Passing of the Graduate School Admission Test
First process is for applicant to secure and accomplish the Application for Admission Form (BatStateU-FO-CEAFA-02) and all other documentary requirements.
Submit the duly accomplished form and all requirements to the Office of the CEAFA Dean.
The program admissions committee will evaluate the application documents.
Applicant will be scheduled for an oral interview, if necessary.
If application is approved by the program admissions committee, applicants will be issued an Application for Graduate School Admission Test (BatStateU-FO-TAO-01-C).
The filled up Graduate School Admission Test Form will be submitted to the Testing and Admission Office (TAO).
If applicant qualifies he/she will be advised to pay the testing fee at the Cashier’s Office.
Admission test permit with schedule will be released to qualified applicants who have paid their testing fees.
Test results will be forwarded to CEAFA and admission slip for registration will be released to students.
If the applicant fulfills both the requirements of program admissions committee and admission test, a NOTICE OF ADMISSION certificate shall be issued by the College Dean and all original documents used for evaluation shall be used for submission to the Registrar’s Office during enrollment.
Students shall complete their enrolment within the prescribed schedule.
Late registration may be allowed provided it does not exceed nine (9) hours of semestral work starting from the opening of classes in the Graduate Program. Beyond this period, late enrollees shall provide the Registrar’s Office a Letter of Accommodation noted by the Dean and approved by the VPAA.
Only students who have paid the corresponding fees and whose registration forms have been validated and approved by the University Registrar are considered enrolled.
Cancellation of enrolment shall be allowed before the start of classes.
No shifting of course shall be allowed after the close of registration period.
New student shall observe the following procedure:
Report to the Office of the College Dean/ Program Coordinator with the Notice of Admission certificate, admission test permit and official receipt, original copies of TOR, PSA Birth Certificate, PSA Marriage Certificate (if applicable), certificate of honorable dismissal/transfer credentials.
Check the list and schedules of course offerings.
Fill out and submit Proposal Slip. Student will be given an SR Code.
Get the assessment copy and pay corresponding fees to the cashier’s office.
Go to the Registrar's Office for printing of registration form and submission of all documentary requirements.
The registrar will check the completeness of the requirements submitted and print the certificate of registration and advise the student the sign the consent at the back of the form upon validation of the information.
Copy of certificate of registration will be given to the student.
Old students shall observe the following procedure:
For manual enrollment:
Report to CEAFA for evaluation and release of assessment copy. Pay to the cashier’s office.
Submit the form and receipt to the registrar’s office for the release of registration form.
For scholars, present all scholarship requirements to the Scholarship and Financial Assistance Office (SFAO) and re-assessment of fees in the Assessment Office
For online enrollment:
Login at Student Portal (http://hera.batstate-u.edu.ph/sites/index.php) using your SR Code and password at Student.
Select for offered courses and schedule.
Pay to the cashier’s office or at accredited payment centers of BatStateU.
Proceed to the registrar’s office for the release of registration form.
For scholars, present all scholarship requirements to the Scholarship and Financial Assistance Office (SFAO) and re-assessment of fees in the Assessment Office.
Returning students
Returning students are those who failed to enroll for a period of at least three years.
Proceed to the Registrar’s Office for the evaluation of grades.
Go to CEAFA for the issuance of proposal slip, encoding, assessment and printing of subjects to be enrolled.
Pay fees to the Cashier’s Office.
Proceed to the Registrar’s Office for printing of Registration forms marked “Enrolled”.
For scholars, present all scholarship requirements to the Scholarship and Financial Assistance Office (SFAO) and re-assessment of fees in the Assessment Office.
Transferees
Go to Department Chair of the respective college for evaluation and secure Evaluation Form for Transferees.
Proceed to the Registrar’s Office for verification of credentials and final approval of the Evaluation Form for Transferees.
Proceed to TAO for entrance examination.
Secure an account or SR Code from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the CABEIHM Building.
Go to the respective college for the issuance of proposal slip, encoding, assessment and printing of subjects to be enrolled.
Pay fees to the Cashier’s Office.
Proceed to the Registrar’s Office for printing of Registration forms marked “Enrolled” and submission of credentials.
For scholars, present all scholarship requirements to the Scholarship and Financial Assistance Office (SFAO) and re-assessment of fees in the Assessment Office.
