About Us

The ACC SEDS Rocketry Team is a diverse, professional, and recently established competitor in Collegiate Rocketry. Founded in October 2022, the team's first competition began with 11 members the Summer of 2024. Since then, the team has now grown to over 25 students ranging from physics, engineering, manufacturing technology, biology, and fine arts. Students that have gone through our competition team have moved on to four-year universities including UT-San Antonio, University of Houston,  Arizona State University, and Texas A&M University. nearly 40% of our members have also participated in the NASA L'SPACE Program, either in the Mission Concept Academy, National Proposal and Writing Evaluation Experience, and the LEAP Internship. This Professional Development in NASA Systems and Collaboration style have been pivotal in developing the foundation for our program. As a two-year institution, we are passionate about developing students by prioritizing accessibility and opportunity.

Mission

Together, the SEDS Rocketry community of advisors, students and friends create an enriched learning environment where all feel safe, valued, and prepared to reach their full potential. Students are immersed in curriculum structured by past leadership, access to high power rocketry literature, and an community focused on creating a collaborative environment. Advisors are our partners; as one entity, we are learners who appreciate individuality, embrace differences, and work to create an educational space around us.

Austin Community College SEDS Rocketry aspires to be a professional, technical, and ethically responsible organization. To be an exceptional, collaborative community, that ignites students to be accountable, open-minded, and feel empowered for a career in STEM.
