We are excited to announce that Aledo ISD will be launching a summer reading initiative beginning June 1st!

  • Aledo Reads At Home will celebrate students who read for fun this summer.

  • Aledo Reads At Home is designed to prevent the summer slide through encouraging and motivating our students to read books of their choice throughout the summer.

  • AISD has developed a list of fiction and non-fiction titles by grade level for students and families that would like suggestions of high- interest texts by grade level (see below).

  • In an effort to encourage and promote summer reading, we have developed a student choice board (see below) filled with fun activities to complete after reading a book. Once students finish reading a book and complete a reading response activity of their choice, they can submit their activity (form linked below) to the district to be entered for a chance to win prizes throughout the summer.

Book Suggestions by Grade Level

Click on the grade level banner below to see fiction, informational, and literary non-fiction suggestions.

These lists were curated by grade level, but feel free to explore suggestions across grade levels to find a just-right book for your child.

Remember these are simply suggestions. Your child may read any book of their choice and complete a choice board activity to be submitted for chances to win.

Summer Reading Choice Board

After completing a book, choose an activity from the choice board below to complete and submit to the district to be entered for a chance to win prizes.
