The South Side High School’s schow Choir recently performed a show. The theme was a set of songs empowering women with multiple costume changes. The girl’s choir had to start preparations late due to weather

“We usually start earlier but we had to start later this year because of the weather,” choral director Heidi Folley said.

Some of the members in the girls group are excited for the costume reveal during the show when they take off the red and black dresses and put on lavender dresses and then the lavender makeup will make sense.

“Taking off the jackets and revealing the pretty lavender will impress them and get us high scores,” Olivia Hubartt (9) said.

The music is very empowering and emotional, the first two songs being about confident and loving yourself the first song being Demi Lovato “Confident” then we move on with a jazzy take on Megan Trainor's “Me Too” after that we have the stunning Lady Gaga’s song “Telephone.” Then we finish it off with the song Kenny Wax wrote for the Musical SIX “Heart of Stone.”

“I think we sound great,” Yusariam Pozuelos-Lemus (9) said.

“I wish we had more time but i still think we are doing great” Say Re (9) said.

All together the show choir has loads of talent and skill and the performers are all excited to start and feel they will do well despite the time crunch.  The girls choir are excited for their first performance.
