Overview of Speech Therapy at Walters Middle School
Welcome to the Speech Therapy page! The Walters Speech team is made up of 2 full-time speech-language pathologists (SLPs) who are dedicated to providing quality speech therapy and support to students with identified communication needs in their IEPs. We also support and collaborate with the students' educational teams to ensure their communication needs are met in their educational environments.

Mrs. Anderson (she/her)
WOW--I have been a WALTERS WARRIOR since 2005! My education at SJSU (Go Spartans) brought me to FUSD as a student teacher. As an undergraduate, I minored in music and focused on Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology. I enjoy both the ART and the SCIENCE in my profession. Communication areas of interest include Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and pragmatic language/social skills. I celebrate neurodiversity and encourage self-advocacy with all my students.
When outside the classroom, you can usually find me in one of the Walters garden spaces. My favorite hobbies are gardening, reading, watching movies and discovering new musical artists. I am my happiest when doing these activities with my two daughters at home.

Mx. Huang (she/they)
I am a recent transplant to Fremont from Alameda. A native to the Bay Area, I have been in education and special education for about 20 years now in K-12 schools. 17 of those years have been as a speech-language pathologist - a field I got into after my undergraduate studies in Psychology and Anthropology at UC Berkeley, with special interest in developmental psychology, cultural anthropology, and linguistics, led me to where I am today. As an individual who sits on many intersections, such as being a child of first generation immigrants, it is my passion to work with people who have similar experiences.
In my free time, I enjoy immersing myself in stories, whether that be by watching shows, playing a video game, or reading a book. I also enjoy spending time with my little old fur baby (a 13-year-old ragdoll cat), my family, and going out on food adventures with friends.
