Welcome to 7th Grade Science!
I am excited and happy to have you in my class this year and I look forward to seeing your progress this year. This year you will be thinking like scientists by making observations, explaining our reasoning & evidence, and testing ideas. You’ll use written articles, interactive models, and hands-on activities to reach your learning goals.
To succeed in this class, you will need to develop your critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, listening skills, teamwork, and your note-taking skills as our “Amplify” Curriculum is like a textbook you write for yourself. If you think you need help, be proactive: Don’t wait for a bad grade; ask for help while time is on your side. Your groupmates, classmates and teachers are here to help you understand the content and to learn how to communicate what you have learned. Everyone can “do” and learn science - but you need to be willing to try.
Ms. Omstead (a.k.a. “Ms. O.”)
My favorite activities include frisbee catching, ball chasing, soccer, playing on my splash pad and grabbing the hoze nozzle and spraying everyone!
Home Sweet Home!
My favorite activities are playing fetch anywhere, but especially at the dog park or the baseball fields. I love to play tug-o-war with Bella and playing on the splash pad.
