Welcome to 7th Grade Science!
I am excited and happy to have you in my class this year and I look forward to seeing your progress this year. This year you will be thinking like scientists by making observations, explaining our reasoning & evidence, and testing ideas. You’ll use written articles, interactive models, and hands-on activities to reach your learning goals.
To succeed in this class, you will need to develop your critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, listening skills, teamwork, and your note-taking skills as our “Amplify” Curriculum is like a textbook you write for yourself. If you think you need help, be proactive: Don’t wait for a bad grade; ask for help while time is on your side. Your groupmates, classmates and teachers are here to help you understand the content and to learn how to communicate what you have learned. Everyone can “do” and learn science - but you need to be willing to try.
As of the beginning of the 2025/26 academic year, masks are not required. However, if you are returning to Horner after being ill or having had Covid, etc., please follow the current district rules to help keep everyone at Horner healthy. PLEASE respect the masking choices that other individuals make, and they will be expected to respect yours. Ms. Omstead (a.k.a. “Ms. O.”)
My favorite activities include frisbee catching, ball chasing and playing on my splash pad and grabbing the hoze nozzle and spraying everyone!
Home Sweet Home!
My favorite activities are playing fetch at the dog park and tug-o-war with Bella. I also like to play on the splash pad with my soccer balls.
