Week of April 6th - 10th

Minimum Day on Wednesday -- 1:30 Dismissal --

• We will review rules, expectations, lining up, routines, transitions (cleaning up), and Hands to Self -- making good choices often. Practice makes progress! And we are making great progress! 

Language arts:   Unit 8 Week 2

• Phonics focus: long or sound (examples: born, more, soar)

• Listen and retell key details

• Build vocabulary: sensory words

• Use context clues

• Text Structure

• Compare and contrast two informational texts

Math:   

• Unit 7: Geometry, Measurement, Shapes (2D and 3D names and parts), Time, Equal Shares (simple fractions)

  • Lesson 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4 (Time to the hour and half hour only) 

  • Please follow along with us in the homework and remembering book. Do not encourage your child to go ahead. Remind them to show their work on story problems. 

Mystery Science:

• Moon and Stars

Writing:

• Narratives -- about family, trips, vacations, etc. 

• Opinion -- Favorite Food/Restaurant/etc. 

SEL (Social Emotional Lessons)/Social Studies

• Building Focus

• Following directions and expected behaviors -- transitions, lining up, quiet listening

• Hands on behaviors
