Drop off and Pick Up:

Students are not allowed on campus until the 8:10 AM bell rings which is 10 minutes before the FINAL bell rings at 8:20 AM to start our school day.
At 8:10 AM students may walk to the blacktop/playground area and can leave their backpacks by our line up spot before going to play.
Students should stay on the playground where there will be supervision, until the final morning bell rings at 8:20 AM.
At 8:20 students will line up on our Room 7 line. First grade lines up in front of the Library Door on the blacktop. I will pick them up there.
Parents will not be allowed on campus after the first week and will need to drop students off at the gates around the campus. This helps to keep our campus safe.
On RAINY DAYS students should still be dropped of near gates and then once the 8:10 AM bell rings, they may walk to their classrooms, hang up backpacks, and stand under the awning to stay dry. If I am available, I will open the classroom door for them to come in and do a quiet activity until school starts at 8:20 AM. If I am not available, students will wait outside under the awnings and staff will supervise until the 8:20 bell rings to start our school day.
Note: 3rd grade goes to the MPR at 8:10, as most of their classrooms are upstairs.
Please BE SURE your child knows WHO IS PICKING THEM UP and WHERE they are being picked up. At the end of the day, I will walk students to the front gate by the office and be visible for at least the first week of school at dismissal unless I have an after school designated supervision spot. If you are looking at the office from the parking lot, the gate is to the right.
ALSO note that on minimum days primary grades (1, 2, 3) get out ten minutes earlier than intermediate grades (4, 5). DO NOT have your primary child wait by intermediate classrooms. Instead be sure they have a designated spot by the gates to meet you or siblings and where there will be supervision.

Reminders:

Label lunch bags and backpacks with your child's name. NO glass containers.
Students need a FULL lunch everyday (even on Minimum Days) -- we have a daily 50 or 45 minute lunch periods.
A SPILL PROOF water bottle (filled with WATER) is recommended and is the only water bottle I allow to be brought INSIDE the classroom
No light up shoes or clothes or shoes with wheels in them.
Students will need a REGULAR sized backpack (no mini backpacks).
Student desks are small, please DO NOT send any extra items, unless I request them.
Be sure your child knows how fasten and unfasten their clothes when using the bathroom.
A ziplock bag (in their backpack) with an extra set of clothes is helpful in case of accidents.

HEADPHONES labeled with YOUR CHILD'S NAME for Chromebook use -- We use these every week, so they should be sturdy and comfortable, ear buds are not recommended.

4 reams of white copy paper
1 box of Kleenex

- 1 pack Crayola Markers
- 1 Pack Crayola Colored Pencils
- Box/Package of BLACK Expo (or Office Depot) Markers -- Purple okay too, but no other colors needed

Small/personal handsanitizer UNSCENTED!!!
Small/personal pencil sharpener with cover to catch pencil fillings
Once again, Please DO NOT send your child with a lot of extra items that will just become distractions. I pass out supplies as needed.

Volunteering

There are times I may ask for parent support for homework folders, dragon folders, or helping with art or other classroom activities. Or maybe you have a great lesson (for first graders) that you would love to share (please email me and we can work something out).
