The library team

Librarian: Mrs. Manley, MLIS

Hello! I am the Volney Library Media Specialist. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from SUNY Oswego and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Syracuse University. I was raised here, in Fulton, NY and enjoy being a part of the community. I spend my free time reading fantasy books, sailing, and hanging out with my awesome dogs, Jethro and Polly. I will be out for a few months of the 18-19 school year for maternity leave.

You can email me at: smanley@fulton.cnyric.org

Library Aide: Mrs. McKay

I'm Mrs. McKay, the library aide here at Volney. I love children and books, so what better place to work than an elementary school library? I've been here for six years now. In my "earlier lives" I've worked as an RN and lived in South America and the South Pacific. I am married, have three grown children and love to spend as much time as possible with them. I also enjoy reading (especially historical fiction), cooking and taking walks with my husband.

Computer Lab Aide: Mrs. Nickerson

Hello! I’m Mrs. Nickerson and I have worked at Volney Elementary as the Computer Lab/Library Aide since 2014. I grew up in Fulton and graduated from SUNY Oswego with a degree in Broadcasting and Mass Communication. I have worked at Syracuse.com as a Sales Intern, Oswego Cinema as a Movie Theater Manager and the Oswego Econo Lodge as the Front Desk Manager. In my spare time my family and I are Lego enthusiasts and participate yearly at Lego conventions displaying our own creations. A few of my many other hobbies include: reading, fixing computers, jewelry making and playing video games and board games with my family.
