    We were on the bus for four hours. However, I forgot to bring my lunch, so I was starving and I am very tired from sitting. When we arrived at KIX, I was very excited.After I spent a long time, we went on the airplane. I was very scared, but I was able to enjoy my time in the airplane. For example, I ate airplane dinner and I watched movies.

    The flight was really long, but it felt very short for me because I enjoyed it very much!!! When I arrived at the Taiwan airport, I was surprised that Taiwan is urban!!! Also, I was surprised that it was not possible to use Japanese yen.

    Today we went to Kansai Airport. It was very big and there were many foreign people. I took an airplane for the first time. It was like a roller coaster! We were able to see the beautiful view. We were surprised at it.

    We left Japan and came to Taiwan. I wrote down what I want to do with my host family.

I realized that there are many things I want to do with them. Our vice principal told us we must not give up and we should keep challenging ourselves.

    Also he told us that if we think we can do a certain thing and keep motivating ourselves, then we can accomplish anything. I was amazed so I want to do many things! We are going to arrive in Australia tomorrow. I can't wait for it and I will do my best.

    Today I went to a supermarket in Australia. I thought the way to count money was really difficult. I used Australian money to pay. And I met my host family. They are really kind so I want to talk a lot with them. If I can’t make myself heard, I want to keep telling them. I tried to eat Lamington, which is an Australian snack like a cake. It tasted delicious. Especially I liked the coconut around the cake. It was similar to coconut chocolate from Mr.donut. I am looking forward to the school life in Australia starting tomorrow.

   Today,we arrived in Brisbane.we went to a big super market. We bought our lunch there.When I ordered an Apple slice cake, my English coundln't be understood. I was sad. However,I said to an old man, ”Have a nice day!”

He answered, “Thank you. You,too.” I felt happy. I learned the importance of trying something.

    Also, we met our host family for the first time. I was nervous but my host family healed my heart. I did many games with my host sister and talked a lot.

I felt I want to know more about each other.

July 26th (WED.)   Kua Otsuka

    I went to school by bus. I took classes today! First, I introduced myself, my hobbies and so on and listened to everyone's self-introductions. Second, we moved to the gym and played basketball, badminton, and volleyball with Australian people. It was really really fun. Also, I had lunch with my friend in high school. I had peanut butter bread and an apple. The lunch was delicious. I'm happy that I was able to talk and become friends with many Australians through these things. When I got home, I made a cherry pie with my host mother and it was a little difficult to make but a lot of fun! I had a great time so I want to do my best with confidence tomorrow.

     I went to school for the first time in Australia! We played a tag and ball game. It was so much fun! We taught them how to make “a paper airplane." Everyone looked very happy. After school, I went to the beach and picked up a shell. I went home and ate pizza. After a while we made a bonfire while listening to music. It was a special time. I made a lot of memories today!!

    I listened to Japanese people living in Australia. She said it was important to smile and say "Thank you." After that I taught Japanese games to some students. For exampe, we did Origami, Kendama, Otedama, and Chair game. I taught Kendama, but it’s too hard for students and it was also difficult for me to teach how to do it.

    I got lunch from my host mother. It was so delicious and I ate it with the students at that school. That school's students are very fine, so I played with them. I was surprised that I had time to eat twice, morning tea time and lunch time. The first time has 50 minutes and the second time has 20 minutes. After school, I went to a cafe in a shopping mall near my school, and I ate coffee milk shake. It was good. After that, I went back to my school because the school had  parents meeting today. My host sister had a swimming school today, so I went there together. I ate chicken for today’s dinner. It was veeeryyyy good. I feel that I can communicate with my host family more than yesterday, and I’m very happy.

    I had an elegant time this morning. Mom took me to school by car with a skylight 😳😱 and with loud music. At school, we had a presentation about Fukui.  I got nervous, so I’m tired. Yasashi and Koki were good at setting the mood for the audience. I was impressed with their performance. I was happy because everyone laughed at my jokes! I’ll do my best at high school tomorrow, too!!! Today, I arranged my sister’s hair and I went to school with the same hair. It was awesome because Lillie looked so happy. After school, I said to her, “Do you want to try other hair styles?”. Then she said to me, “Yes” with a smile!!!

    I went to Westfield Chernside Mall. It’s so big and I had an exciting time. I ate a hamburger with many ingredients for dinner and ice cream. I enjoyed the Australian hamburger and atmosphere. After that, we went to a video arcade and played games. I was surprised as we charged money on a card and touched machine instead of putting  coin money. We tried a basketball game and my host mother won. It was really fun! Also,I learned about many kinds of birds which are famous in Australia. When I saw them, their chirp was interesting and nice. I  remembered their names were cockatoo, gala and lorikeet. I got used to a new life in Australia because everyone is very friendly. I want to enjoy Australian life and  to talk with my host family and students!

    Today, I had two happy things!!! First, I played an original Australian game 🐨 It improved my memory and eye contact. I was able to be the last remaining 3 people. It made me very happy and sad because I conldn't be the last one and win 😹

     Second, my dream came true 💕💕💕I danced with Australian students ♥️😱I did just dance in an P.E. class for about 40 minutes ❤︎ I was very glad to dance with my favorite song 🎧 I wanna do it every day because it is the most fun thing 👑☝🏻

    We went to Holy Spirit College! I was surprised because the college was very big and new. I played sports with students. They talked to me in Japanese with a smile. So I was very happy. After that I ate lunch with them. At that time, I enjoyed  communicating with them. My team introduced Fukui and traditional Japanese toys. I was surprised because students played kendama very well. I will introduce them again next Friday so I have to practice hard. 

    I went to a park with my host mother and sisters. I think it was much bigger than a park in Japan. My host sisters like the park so l want to go there again!!

    I went to high school today. I participated in the sports day. We enjoyed dancing and playing games with high school students. They were so friendly and kind. I look forward to seeing them again. I tried drinking slurpee after school. Also, I went to Brisbane City at night. It was so beautiful. I enjoyed Eat Street.There was a big place and the illumination was beautiful too. I ate a hamburger and tornado fries. They were very delicious!! It's my favorite place I've ever been to in Brisbane.

   Today, I gave a presentation about Fukui's nature. I'm glad because the audience concentrated on our presentation. I want to make a better presentation next time.

    I played Jenga with my host sister. I lost that game, but I had fun doing it. I also taught her some Japanese games. She understood and enjoyed playing with me.

    I have birds in my house. Her name is Blessing. She was on my shoulder this morning. I like Australia because of its rich nature. I would like to know more about it.

   I went skating this evening. We went to the University of Calgary skating rink. That was the site of the Olympics. The facilities were very clean and wonderful.

    My host family is very good at skating because of their ice hockey experience, and they taught me how to skate. Thanks to that, I skated well.

And there I met a Japanese university student studying in Calgary. He is coming from Saitama for 4 months. I was very surprised to see Japanese people.

   I attended a Thai party today because my host mother is Thai. I ate Thai food. I also tried to eat using only my hands. I hadn't seen it before, so I was a little worried, but when I ate it, it was really delicious. Also, I went to Sunshine Coast Beach today. I heard that it is a very famous place in Australia. I have to thank you for taking me. The sea was deep blue and very beautiful. It was a lot of fun. Australia's best. I do not want to return. It was a day that made me want to study English more.

    This morning I went to watch my host brother play AFL (Australian football league). During the game I helped my host mother to be the Goal Umpire. I also met my host grandparents.My host brother tried very hard and his team won the game. It was very interesting for me.

     We ate pig in a blanket (sausage in bread) for lunch. It was nice. After lunch my host mother and I took my host sister to her horse riding club. I saw a lot of horses there.

    Then, my host mother took me to Westfield Chermside. It is the biggest shopping center in Brisbane. There were a lot of stores. I had fun buying some things. My favorite shop is Sportsgirl.

    I had a wonderful experience today！First, I went shopping with my host family. I bought a lot of souvenirs there. My host mother took me to a store where I can buy a lot at a low price so I was happy to buy snacks and stuffed animals. Next my host sister went horse riding and there were a lot of animals so I looked around. There were horses, cows, sheep, donkeys and chickens. It was a great opportunity and I had a lot of fun. And I went to the beach. It was very natural and beautiful. Finally, I went for a drive for about 5 hours from evening to night. I love driving at night so it was really fun. I watched the night view of the Brisbane observatory. It was beautiful and impressive. I want to go there again. 

 I was really busy today but it was a good day. I’ m looking forward to going shopping and having a BBQ tomorrow.

    We went to the Australia zoo. This zoo was so big! It was many times bigger than the zoo in Japan and many buses were running inside the zoo. I saw a lot of animals at the zoo and most of them were new to me. We were able to feed the kangaroos in this zoo. I was very scared but it was a good experience. We were able to see the show. It was so short, but it was fun. That night, I watched a movie called AVATAR with my host father. It was difficult to understand because it was spoken in English and there were no subtitles. But my host father gave me a different way of saying a sentence I didn’t know what it meant, so I could understand this story.

    I went to a very big shopping mall🛍 I think it's very hard to see everything in one day. It was interesting because everything that caught my eye was unusual. Also, there was an Aboriginal product, so I ended up buying it. I bought a lot of snacks for souvenirs recommended by my host family. I want everyone to enjoy the taste of Australia🇦🇺 I was most nervous when I paid. I didn't know how to use coins, but my host family helped me💖 It was a day without Japanese, but I enjoyed it. I don't want to believe that next weekend will be the last, but I want to enjoy every day with all my might.

    I went to Redcliffe this morning for breakfast.🥪Then I was told about the Australian flowers that were in a nearby park. In the afternoon, my host mother and I went shopping🛍I enjoyed talking about Japan🇯🇵 and Australia🇦🇺 in the car. When shopping, my host mother would tell me what items were for sale and whether they were made in Australia. We went to all the places my host mother and I wanted to go. Which is better? I also enjoyed the time I spent worrying about it! After returning from shopping, we took pictures📷💖with our host sisters Pippa and Eden and played Australian games! 

Today we ate Pavlova for dessert, a favorite of our host sister Pippa. At first I thought it was a normal cake🍰, but when I cut it open, I was surprised to find that the inside was all meringue, but it was very delicious! After eating, we all watched a cartoon called Bluey💙 It was a happy day‪💖💖

    The week was over in no time!! Today, I went to the beach with my host family. It was a sea where dogs could go in. I went into the sea to my feet! It was so cold. It was very beautiful sea!! We built a castle out of sand. After that,We ate a fish and chips. It is a famous Australian food.🇦🇺 It was so delicious that I want to eat it again.

    I ate a hot dog for dinner after I got home.🌭 It is a famous Australian food too.

After dinner, we watched a Korean drama together. It was so fun time.

    I am able to meet Japanese friends. I'm looking forward to meeting them. I want to enjoy one more week of living in Australia!!🩷

    I made Okonomiyaki in the morning today. I made it with Australian students and heard a lot about the differences between Japanese and Australian food. I was happy to eat Japanese food after a long time.🇯🇵 After that we gave a presentation. I felt that the reaction was bigger than the first presentation. At lunchtime my buddy showed me the music room.🎻 There were a lot of guitars there and it was fun. In the afternoon we ate a lot of Australian food such as kangaroo meat, Vegemite and cookies. It was very delicious.✨ It’s really fun to realize that I’m gradually becoming able to talk with everyone. I have only one week left in Australia, so I want to enjoy my life in Australia by talking with more people.🗣️🇦🇺💞

    After school, I played with my host sister in the park in front of my house. There was a seesaw ,swing, slide and so on. My favorite playground equipment is a comet.

I had never played it so I felt it was a lot of fun. I felt happy because l played with Jazmin. A comet can't be played alone so I moved it together.

    After that, my host brother made me fish taco. It was delicious so I asked him for one more taco. The second taco was a little spicy. I came to like that more.

    At night, I watched a movie with my host mother. That title is Toy story 1. I watched it for the first time in a long time. So I had fun and remembered.

    I'm going to say goodbye to this family. When I think about it, I become sad. I am going to have fun in this life!!!!!

    At first period, we made Okonomiyaki. It was more sticky than the Japanese one.

It was delicious ;-) At lunch time, I met our buddies and my and Rin’s buddies gave us presents. They gave me a cockatoo stuffed toy, a strawberry toy, koala socks and a notebook. The cockatoo is a famous bird in Australia. An Australian student said, “I love this bird. So cute.” I thought there are a lot of people that love animals in Australia. The strawberry toy smelled sweet.

I’m soooooo happy.

    In the afternoon, I tried Australian food. I ate vegemite, fairy bread, lamington and I even ate a kangaroo!!!!!!!!!!! I didn’t know people could eat kangaroos. I was surprised :-o

I fed kangaroos at the zoo last Saturday, so I felt a little complicated. However, it was delicious. It was like beef. I want to eat it again.

    Today was a day that I ate a lot of food!!!!!

    Today, I experienced Aboriginal art at school. Aboriginal art is an indigenous art in Australia, a painting that uses a lot of dot patterns. I experienced it like a coloring book. It was my first time doing it, so I wasn't used to it, and I failed a little, but I was able to experience it happily. And I gave the completed Aboriginal art to the host sister. Also, today's dinner was Japanese curry rice. Actually, I ate it yesterday too, but my two host sisters liked it, and the host mother and host father were also very happy and said, "It's delicious", so I ate it for two days in a row. Unlike Japan, rice is elongated and not sticky, but I felt nostalgic because it felt like "Japanese curry and rice", and I was very happy to know the good things of Japan.

    In the first and second period of today, we played body moving games and sang famous songs in Australia. The game is using balloons, there is a rule that two people have to cooperate and break the balloons on the waist, and  it was difficult to break. 

    After the game, we sang a song called Kukkabara, which is famous in Australia.

    We took a class with my buddy in the afternoon. I took a Japanese class today. It was  easy for us, but we enjoyed taking classes with Australian students.

  I went to see the host father and host brother's football after school. I saw football for the first time. I didn't understand the rules, but it was interesting.

    It was a very tiring day, but it was fun. I'm looking forward to going to college tomorrow.

    We went to QUT and I met friends who attend another school after a long time. I felt that a university in Australia is different from that in Japan. It was like newer. There was a big screen and we could play with it. I thought that the university of technology is awesome. The person who told us about the university decided on the university by visiting it. I thought that I have to visit several universities to decide which university that I wanna go to.

　After looking around the university, we had lunch quickly and went to the city. We visited a souvenir shop and we bought some souvenirs. I bought some souvenirs for my family and a souvenir for me. Looking around the shop and thinking about what to buy was so much fun. 

　After school, I went to a toy shop and bought some souvenirs for my family and friends again. This store sold at one-half the price of that souvenir shop! I was surprised… But it was also a good memory! I learned a good thing:)

    　Today,I went to Queensland university. It was a very large, state-of-the-art university. Also the city was very urban. There were so many high buildings.I was very happy to see my friends who had not been to elementary school for a long time!I also bought some kangaroo meat jerky!🦘

　After school I went trampolining. The trampoline was very difficult. I played tag with my host brother and we also played basketball on the trampoline. It was very tiring but fun!I want to go trampolining again!

    Today was my last opportunity to spend time with the younger students at St Dympna’s. I played with some students in the library and ate lunch with them. Some students gave me some presents and cards. It was so cute! Afterwards I took my last Japanese class with my host mother. She is the Japanese teacher. I was really excited to spend time with her and the school students. Everyone was kind to me every time. I was sad to finish.

    After school my host family took me to Hotel Hi Jinx with my friend. We played lots of games. It was very fun! My favourite game was the white ball pit. Then we ate frozen yoghurt and I met my new friend Zara. We went shopping and had dinner together. I bought a lot of souvenirs. Mainly chocolate biscuits! It was a really fun day but very sad to say goodbye.

    Tomorrow we will have the sayounara party so I want to express my gratitude to everyone.

     I played tag with a ball in a P.E class. I think it's a good game because people who get caught can cooperate. Also, I played kick baseball.The ball is bigger than a baseball, so it's hard to throw. However, it’s easy to see and understand the situation. I enjoyed both games. 

    I went shopping with my host sisters. I was surprised that the shopping mall was so big. I bought  key chains for my friends. I hope they will be happy. 

    I'm tired because I stayed at the shopping mall until 9 o'clock today. However I’m happy that I had a very productive day.

    Today was the day to say goodbye to everyone. I was so sad that I cried because I loved my current school so much. I had a lot of buddy friends and I was able to get along with various people. But today was a farewell. I wrote a letter to my friends who took care of me and gave it to them. Also, I played basketball with my Australian friends at lunchtime today. I also took a lot of pictures. I want to see everyone again someday. I'm glad host families were happy with the farewell party. I'll do my best to enjoy the last Saturday and Sunday!

     I had many things today! In 1st and 2nd classes , we had presentations of famous people who were related to Australia. I talked about Margot Robbie and my teacher made me look like Harley Quinn. I was selected as one of two best presentations. I was so thrilled! In 3rd and 4th classes, we had a campfire and made bread. I was not able to make it well, but it was enjoyable! After that we received certificates. However I didn't realize that today was the last time I came to this school. In 5th and 6th classes we prepared for a farewell party. We practiced singing and dancing. Finally we had a farewell party. We enjoyed the party with our host family and we ate cakes and pizzas. After school I went to EATSTREET to eat dinner. I ate a hamburger and french fries . I have eaten lots of hamburgers since I came to Australia. But today’s hamburger was especially voluminous and delicious! Tonight I could see beautiful stars in the sky! My host mother told me that we can see more stars tomorrow night, so I’m looking forward to seeing them. Today was the last day to go to school, so I was sad, but I want to enjoy this weekend and I’m going to enjoy Australia until the end!

     In the morning, I went to a supermarket to buy snacks to bring back to Japan. TimTam is a very popular chocolate in Australia, so I bought it! Also, I bought vegemite. It is a seasoning and Australian people use it when they eat bread. I have tried it before, but it was very salty.I want my family in Japan to try it!

    In the afternoon, I went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary! First, I held a koala!! We had to book and pay for it. Koalas were very quiet, so it was easy to hold them. Also they were heavier than I had thought! Moreover, they had a unique smell and it was that of eucalyptus which is koala's food! I took cute pictures with them!

    Next, I saw kangaroos! In one park, there were a lot of kangaroos. We could touch and feed them. They were quieter than I had thought and very cute! I was surprised that kangaroos really jump and move!

    In addition, I saw a lot of other animals such as Australian animals. I'm happy that I had a wonderful day with my host family!!!!!! But, my homestay is not over yet. So, I want to enjoy the last day tomorrow!!!

    Last Saturday in Australia was amazing. I woke up around 9:00, so I got a lot of sleep last night. In the morning, I played pokemon with my youngest host brother named Washi. Then, there was a surprise. My host brother named Vivaan plays tennis and his doubles partner is sick, so I was told by my host dad that I’m going to sub in and play tennis.  I really felt bad for Vivan’s partner, but I am super excited to play doubles with Vivaan. For lunch, I ate paranta which is like naan bread and it had potatoes inside. I played one doubles match with my host brother and one singles match. As a result, I won both my matches, so I was really  glad. Also, the surface was grass, and it was the first time playing on grass surface so I got a crucial experience. Then, we went on the car to bring a cake that my host mother made for someone’s 1st years old birthday. Unfortunately, we did not join the party, but I got to see what the party looks like and see the Brisbane city during the car ride. Lastly, we had BBQ, so I ate chicken, sausage, lamb meat, and numerous other food. To end the last night in Australia, I got gifts from my host family, so it made me feel loved as if they are an actual family of mine.
