Technical preparation is crucial to making a great video. These technical aspects may sound daunting, expensive, downright impossible!!!

Just check out the 3 1/2 minute video below by Sunny Lenarduzzi, who produces tutorial videos about film making.

Definitely pay attention to each of the 5 parts of video making that Ms. Lenarduzzi excellently points out:

Again, before you begin shooting, think about some basic plans:

• If you are using your phone, how will you stabilize it?
• Where is a good place to shoot with good lighting and no sound interference? (If you can't find a place, feel free to reserve a library conference room!)

Use the Teleprompter Lite App for Reading Your Script

Since you are using your phone (or a tablet, Ipad, etc.) to film yourself, why not use an app that reads the script, allowing you to read directly into the phone? There are many apps out there, but Ms. Lenarduzzi, in the video below, recommends Teleprompter Lite. Watch her awesome video, and also take note:

• The app is free! Look for the icon above, since there are many similar apps.
• You'll need to spend some time rehearsing.
• Experiment with the settings, especially the font size and teleprompter speed. I had to practice about 5-6 times until the speed matched my natural reading pace.
• Once you're done, the app will save your video essay directly to your phone. Then save it to your Google Drive. (This process is dependent on which phone you're using, etc. If you need help, ask a friend, your teacher, or Mr. Berner for help.)
