AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. The program places special emphasis on growing WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, Reading) strategies.

The class is offered in more than 7,000 high schools empowering over 2,000,000 students. Students in the class usually take it throughout their high school career building strong bonds with other AVID students while they continually push each other to new heights.
