WHO WE ARE

The Student Support team believes in the development of whole self, including a healthy balance of mental, social/emotional and physical well-being. We help students with problem solving and skill building both individually and in small groups, as well as in the classroom setting. Our team uses guidance from the American School Counselors Association (ASCA) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that they need to achieve academic success, college and career readiness, and social/emotional development.

Together we have almost 60 years of experience in education!!! Holly joined FSMA in 2014 and Carla and Laura began working here in 2018. Alexis joined as the school psychologist intern in 2019, then went off to work for one year elsewhere but couldn’t stay away and came back in 2021. We truly enjoy working together on the Student Support Team, helping all our students grow both academically and socio-emotionally, and are deeply grateful to be a part of the FSMA family.

In our free time, we have a wide range of interests. Holly enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Laura recently moved to Philadelphia near the historical neighborhood and loves exploring the many small restaurants and hidden courtyards and parks. During the summer she enjoys sailing, cycling, and traveling. Carla is a talented crafter and also enjoys family time with her daughters, long walks, and watching Christian related videos and various Netflix movies. During the summer she spends time at the pool and the beach. Alexis loves to connect with others and spend time with her family and friends. She has a yellow lab named Charlie who is her whole world, and oftentimes refers to him as her only child. Alexis truly enjoys learning as much as she can through podcasts, books, and Netflix series and she is always open to suggestions!
