Set in the middle of Sebago Lake, Maine, the Frye Island Golf Course is 25 minutes west of Portland and just a ten minute ferry ride away. The Frye Island Ferry handles nine cars and departs every 20-30 minutes - no reservations required.

Many players have stated that the Frye Island Golf Course has some of the best greens in Maine, despite difficult growing conditions. Visitors have also indicated that they consider the Frye Island Golf Course a key point to their Island experience.

Just one stop on the Maine Golf Trail, this hidden gem was designed by the infamous Geoffrey Cornish. Although a nine hole course, it's not your typical island resort course, as there are plenty of challenges for all levels of play.

Although the Course is designed to accommodate all levels of play, there are many chances for a shot to get into trouble. There's the Cornish 'signature' double green on #2 and #6. While #6 is rated the easiest, you'll find three ponds, a stream and woods on either side that may cause some issues. Water is also found on holes #2, #3, #5, and #8; however, there are landing areas for those who opt to play safer. Tight fairways will also reward players who shoot down the middle. Overshooting the greens will also present difficulties.
