Family engagement is the mutual responsibility of families, schools, and the community to build relationships that support student learning and achievement. Family engagement supports family well-being and the continuous learning and development of children, families and educators. Family engagement is fully integrated in the child’s educational experience and supports the whole child and is both culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate.
Family Engagement Goals and Strategies
(1) Facilitate family to family support with social events that encourage families to connect with one another, such as:

(2) Establish a network of community resources, such as:

(3) Increase family participation in decision making, such as:
Provide opportunities for parent to be involved and have a voice: PTO, Campus and District site – based committees, District Strategic plan committees

(5) Develop staff skills in evidence – based practices that support families in meeting their children’s learning benchmarks, such as:

Pre-K Teachers will engage in ongoing professional development with Region 7 and online with CLI Engage. They will maintain the required hours of training annually.
(6) Evaluate family engagement efforts and use evaluations for continuous improvement, such as:

Log communications with families
