I am a 2000 graduate of Tyrone Area School district. I earned my associate degree in Human Services in 2002 from Mount Aloysius College where I worked as a counselor assistant before deciding to go back to school. I graduated from Drexel University with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I also earned my master’s degree in Gifted Education from Millersville University.
As a Special Education Teacher, I am responsible for coordinating and/or providing special education services, which include direct & indirect instruction, co-teaching with regular education staff, collaboration with regular education teachers, related service providers, and parents, monitoring and reporting progress towards Individualized Education Program (IEP/GIEP) goals, and designing and refining (G)/IEP’s with the IEP team.
I am also the District Gifted Coordinator. I help with Child Find activities to help identify gifted students, provide enrichment opportunities for highly able/ gifted students, and support classroom teachers.
I have been married to my best friend, Ben, for 17 years. We have two boys together: Luca 15 years old and Greyson 12 years old. We also have a fur baby, Atlas. He is an Anatolian Shepherd. When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family, read, practice, and teach yoga, and travel.
