 I am a 1995 graduate of Forbes Road and a 2005 graduate of Shippensburg University, earning a B.S.Ed. in Elementary Education with a minor concentration in reading. While employed at Forbes Road, I completed Shippensburg’s M.S.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction program with high honors.

In addition to coursework at Shippensburg,  I further developed my science knowledge and pedagogy through the “Science, It’s Elementary” initiative. Over several years, I attended workshops from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg on nine science modules, which I taught to grades 4-6.

This is my fifth year teaching 1st grade. The IU helped to prepare me for the transition from intermediate to primary level instruction, and I attend the PaTTAN Literacy Symposium to keep up with current research on literacy instruction.

I have always appreciated the educational experience that Forbes Road offers. I love this community, and seeing or hearing about my former students’ successes brings me great joy!

My husband and I live in Everett, and he works at Juniata Trading Company. We like to flea market in the summer, which is how I grow my collection of antique dolls.

I am also blessed with two grown stepdaughters, three grandchildren, and a cat named Jewel.
