Mission: Positively impact and advance each student every day.
Vision: Foster one's greatest potential.
Mrs. Entzminger's class is an example Vandeventer Middle School's mission to "positively impact and advance each student every day" by showcasing an engaging, collaborative learning environment. The students are working in groups to discuss The Grapes of Wrath, fostering a deeper understanding through peer discussion and guided questions. This collaborative approach encourages active participation, critical thinking, and social interaction, which can enhance comprehension and make the learning experience more meaningful. The teacher’s active involvement, as seen here, further supports each student’s progress by facilitating and guiding discussions, ensuring that every student has an opportunity to learn and advance.
Mrs. Robert's class reflects the vision of Vandeventer Middle School "to foster one’s greatest potential" by showing a research-focused, student-centered learning environment.. Each student is actively engaged in a research project, using laptops to explore topics independently or in small groups. This setup encourages students to take ownership of their learning, develop essential research skills, and cultivate critical thinking. The teacher’s guidance helps scaffold the project, ensuring that students are supported while also being challenged to reach their full potential. The collaborative, resource-rich environment empowers students to push their boundaries and grow academically.

FISD Takes Threats Seriously
When students make a threat to a campus, even via social media, the District and campus move quickly to address them. Watch Frisco Police discuss why words matter.
Parents are encouraged to remind children that while they may be “joking” about having a weapon or threatening harm to a school campus, the punishment by law is, at minimum, a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $4,000 and up to a year in jail. The punishment can be as severe as a third-degree felony, punishable by up to $10,000 and two to 10 years in prison.
Frisco ISD supports the Frisco Police Department's full prosecution of any individual who threatens harm to our students, staff, and campuses.

Free Online Tutorials
Frisco ISD teachers offer weekly online tutorials in the evenings. These tutorials are designed to further support our students and campus teachers, who are available for in-person assistance. Find the full list of subjects and tutorial dates/times here.
Accessing Class Curriculum Outlines
Frisco ISD parents can access the curriculum outline and pacing guides used Districtwide for each core course. District educators create and revise the curriculum outlines each year which is rooted in the statewide curriculum standards provided by the Texas Education Agency, called the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
Why Attendance Matters
Here are three key reasons why student attendance is crucial:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance keeps students on track with lessons and assignments, leading to better understanding and improved grades.
Skill Development: Consistent attendance builds essential skills like reading, writing, and problem-solving, which are vital for long-term success.
Socialization: Regular school attendance allows students to interact with peers, fostering important social skills such as teamwork, communication, and empathy.
Frisco ISD is committed to our students' success and looks forward to seeing everyone at school every day!
Important Election Dates to keep in mind:
Early Voting: Ends Nov. 1
Election Day: Nov. 5
Frisco ISD has 4 propositions on the ballot this year.
Proposition A is a VATRE (Voter-Approved Tax Rate Election), which proposes a tax increase of less than 3 cents to fund operating expenses like teacher salaries, utilities, and student programming.
Propositions B, C, and D: Bonds for Campus Upkeep & Technology
100% of bond funds stay within FISD. View a complete list of projects by campus. School bond ballots are required by state law to include the statement “This is a property tax increase.” even though these bonds are not projected to result in an additional tax increase.
Proposition B: Over 20 campuses are nearing 25 years old, and this proposition will fund essential updates like:
25-year campus refresh
Staley Middle School replacement
General facility maintenance, paving, landscape repairs
Safety & security improvements
New turf for baseball/softball fields with seating less than 1,000
Transportation and equipment needs
Proposition C: Provides funding for technology, including replacement devices for staff and students on a 5-year rotation, along with network updates and improved wireless access.
Proposition D: Funds a new tennis center with 16 outdoor courts to serve students and the community.

This past Saturday, Vandeventer Middle School had 65 orchestra students audition for the All Region Orchestra. They competed against the top students in Frisco, McKinney, and Prosper. To put it into perspective, some students were competing against 200 others, for just 36 available spots. We had 27 Vikings place into the Region Orchestras. Those who placed into the group will be performing a concert on November 16th at Lebanon Trail HS and will have the opportunity to work with an acclaimed guest conductor.
