Mission: Positively impact and advance each student every day.
Vision: Foster one's greatest potential.
Vandeventer Middle School’s combined choir performing at Liberty High School aligns with the school's mission of "positively impacting and advancing each student every day" in several ways: showcasing student talent; building confidence and teamwork; encouraging passion; and community engagement.
Spooky Hocus Pocus Science Lab: The activity encourages students to explore and experiment, fostering curiosity and critical thinking—key components in helping them reach their greatest potential, which aligns with the school's vision.

Administrative Information
If you need to drop off something for your student, you will need to check in at the front office. To minimize classroom disruptions, we will only deliver glasses, house keys, and money to students during instructional time. All other items will be left on the shelf on the front office. Parents will be responsible for emailing their student that the item has been left in the front office for pick-up.
As a reminder, we do not release students between 3:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. If you need to check out your student early, please do so before 3:30 p.m. Regular carpool expectations apply for students being pick up after 3:30 p.m. Parents may not pick up students from the front parking lot from 3:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Parents/guardians will be allowed to eat lunch with their student(s). Below are the guidelines:
24 hour notice required
complete this form to schedule a lunch visitation
bring food for your student(s) only; food sharing is not allowed
check-in at the front office to receive a visitor badge
photo identification required to receive a visitor badge
FISD Takes Threats Seriously
When students make a threat to a campus, even via social media, the District and campus move quickly to address them. Watch Frisco Police discuss why words matter.
Parents are encouraged to remind children that while they may be “joking” about having a weapon or threatening harm to a school campus, the punishment by law is, at minimum, a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $4,000 and up to a year in jail. The punishment can be as severe as a third-degree felony, punishable by up to $10,000 and two to 10 years in prison.
Frisco ISD supports the Frisco Police Department's full prosecution of any individual who threatens harm to our students, staff, and campuses.
Free Online Tutorials
Frisco ISD teachers offer weekly online tutorials in the evenings. These tutorials are designed to further support our students and campus teachers, who are available for in-person assistance. Find the full list of subjects and tutorial dates/times here.
Accessing Class Curriculum Outlines
Frisco ISD parents can access the curriculum outline and pacing guides used Districtwide for each core course. District educators create and revise the curriculum outlines each year which is rooted in the statewide curriculum standards provided by the Texas Education Agency, called the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
Why Attendance Matters
Here are three key reasons why student attendance is crucial:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance keeps students on track with lessons and assignments, leading to better understanding and improved grades.
Skill Development: Consistent attendance builds essential skills like reading, writing, and problem-solving, which are vital for long-term success.
Socialization: Regular school attendance allows students to interact with peers, fostering important social skills such as teamwork, communication, and empathy.
Frisco ISD is committed to our students' success and looks forward to seeing everyone at school every day!
Important Election Dates to keep in mind:
Early Voting: Oct. 21 - Nov. 1
Election Day: Nov. 5
Frisco ISD has 4 propositions on the ballot this year.
Proposition A is a VATRE (Voter-Approved Tax Rate Election), which proposes a tax increase of less than 3 cents to fund operating expenses like teacher salaries, utilities, and student programming.
Propositions B, C, and D: Bonds for Campus Upkeep & Technology
100% of bond funds stay within FISD. View a complete list of projects by campus. School bond ballots are required by state law to include the statement “This is a property tax increase.” even though these bonds are not projected to result in an additional tax increase.
Proposition B: Over 20 campuses are nearing 25 years old, and this proposition will fund essential updates like:
25-year campus refresh
Staley Middle School replacement
General facility maintenance, paving, landscape repairs
Safety & security improvements
New turf for baseball/softball fields with seating less than 1,000
Transportation and equipment needs
Proposition C: Provides funding for technology, including replacement devices for staff and students on a 5-year rotation, along with network updates and improved wireless access.
Proposition D: Funds a new tennis center with 16 outdoor courts to serve students and the community.

Ms. Taylor began her career in education in 1997 with Irving ISD after receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. After several years as a teacher and coach, she obtained her master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and continued in Irving as a middle school assistant principal. In 2006, she transitioned to Dallas ISD where she worked in various leadership roles until moving to the Frisco area. The 2024-2025 school-year marks Ms. Taylor's sixth year as the Vandeventer Middle School principal.
