Every February, the U.S. honors the contributions and sacrifices of African Americans who have helped shape the nation. Black History Month celebrates the rich cultural heritage, triumphs and adversities that are an indelible part of our country's history. 

To celebrate Black History Month, we encourage our students and staff to wear black, red, yellow, or green every Thursday during the month of February. 

There will be other opportunities to celebrate Black History Month through the month of February; such as, announcements, library book display, a door decorating contest, and various classroom activities. 

We are soliciting volunteers for our annual Multicultural Night on Wednesday, March 20th  from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The event will be held in our gymnasiums, cafeteria, library, and throughout the building. 

We are encouraging our students to come and share their culture with their school community with a song, dance, instrumental music, special yummy dish, or by bringing some special artifacts to put on display (e.g. ceremonial clothing, factual information, country flag, etc.). Students who participate in the event will receive 20 HERO points. Students who attend the event will receive 10 HERO points.
