Character Lesson
2Words is a video-based, character development curriculum. It's designed for coaches and written for secondary athletes across all sports. Boys and Girls athletics will provide character lessons once a week during the athletic class period.

Students MUST have their physical ID badge or a picture of their ID in their cellphone to get into athletic events. Using HAC for entrance into athletic events is not permissible.
February is National Heart Health Awareness Month! The first Friday of every February is known as National GO RED day and Frisco ISD will be going RED on Friday, February 2, 2024, to bring awareness to heart health.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States and knowing your risk factors and how to make lifestyle changes as to protect your heart are important. One person dies every 34 seconds from heart disease. Heart disease is NOT just a man’s disease however, as 1in 3 deaths in in WOMEN are from cardiovascular disease and stroke. Please encourage your student to wear RED on Friday, 2/2/2024 and show support of being a champion for heart health!
What: CPR classes for VMS students
When: Wednesday, February 21, 2024
Where: VMS Library
Time: 4:30PM-6:30PM
In this class, students will learn Adult and Child CPR and will also learn how to operate an AED. Spots are limited and are offered on a first come first serve basis. Cost is $10 cash, and all participants will receive a HEARTSAVER CPR card from the American Heart Association. Certification is good for two years. A permission slip must be completed before your student may participate in this class. Please complete the permission slip that is linked in the Sign-Up Genius and email the slip to Nurse Teeling prior to the class.

Ms. Taylor began her career in education in 1997 with Irving ISD after receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. After several years as a teacher and coach, she obtained her master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and continued in Irving as a middle school assistant principal. In 2006, she transitioned to Dallas ISD where she worked in various leadership roles until moving to the Frisco area. The 2023-2024 school-year marks Ms. Taylor's fifth year as the Vandeventer Middle School principal.
