Conversation with Counselors
Registration for the 2024-2025 school year has officially begun. We look forward to our rising freshman joining the Redhawk family! All of our amazing middle schools are working diligently to provide your students with all of the information necessary to help plan their high school course experiences. We are working as teams to share this information both in-person and electronically and we are hopeful that the videos and presentations along with counselor guidance will serve as a helpful guide in the registration process. You will receive more information on creating a four-year-plan and course selection soon, in the meantime, we wanted to make sure you are aware of an upcoming meeting we have planned for you at Liberty. Details are below. We plan to have the LHS Planning Guide ready for you prior to the meeting.

On Friday, November 10, 2023, we will be screening all 7th graders and new students to Frisco ISD for vision and hearing as mandated by Texas Education Code Title 25, Chapter 37.
If your student wears glasses or contacts, please make sure they bring them and wear them for their vision screening.
Students may be re-screened at a later date. If after the second screening there is a concern regarding your student’s hearing or vision, a referral notice will be sent home. If you would like to be notified of your student’s results or have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
You may choose to waive screening by the school by signing either the religious affidavit stating that the vision or hearing screening conflicts with the tenets and practices of a church or religious denomination of which you are an adherent or member, or the affidavit stating your child will be screened by their private physician and you will provide results to the school by January 30, of the current school year.
Thank you,

We have so many exciting things coming up the next couple of weeks, and WE NEED YOU! Volunteers are so important to helping our school go above and beyond for the students. Here is a quick look at some of the upcoming opportunities we could use your help with!
*Basketball Concessions: various evenings November 8 - January 25
*HERO Points for Prizes: November 7-10 and November 16-19
Before school, students will have the opportunity to cash in their hard-earned HERO points for prizes. We need help working the store!
*Share Table Program: We need volunteers to help us with our "Share Table" program. A Share Table is where our students learn to share food and avoid wastage. The volunteers will help direct the kids to the Share Table and help them to arrange food items properly.
Click HERE for Tuesday, 11-7 | Click HERE for Wednesday, 11-8 | Click HERE for Thursday, 11-9 | Click HERE for Friday, 11-10

This past Saturday, many of our Vandeventer Orchestra students participated in the All-Region Orchestra competition. This is a highly competitive process in which students prepare advanced music and compete against students from Frisco ISD, Mckinney ISD, and Prosper ISD to earn a coveted ranking in a cross-district orchestra, or All-Region Orchestra.
Students prepare for this audition through many avenues of practice: weeks of campus-based assessments, mock auditions by playing for both directors and their peers, before and after school tutoring, master classes, and additional music instruction with their private lesson teachers.
We are ecstatic to announce that 29 Vandeventer Orchestra students were awarded placements across the three orchestras. This is the 2nd highest number of total students making All-Region from the middle schools in Frisco ISD, Mckinney ISD, and Prosper ISD. We are thankful to have many talented and dedicated musicians on our campus!
The 29 students’ names are placed on the VMS Orchestra website's "All-Region" page to commemorate their success. This can be found by scrolling toward the bottom of the page linked here: https://www.vandeventerorchestra.com/all-region-orchestra
Congratulations to the students (pictured left) who placed into an All-Region Orchestra (listed alphabetically by first name).

After several years as a teacher and coach, she obtained her master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and continued in Irving as a middle school assistant principal. In 2006, she transitioned to Dallas ISD where she worked in various leadership roles until moving to the Frisco area.
