Teachers, here are the objectives, essential question, and standards!

Objective 1: Comprehension of Outstandingly Remarkable Values (ORVs): Students will be able to identify, describe, and explain the five outstandingly remarkable values (Historic, Scenic, Wildlife, Recreation, Water Quality, and Quantity) attributed to the Wekiva River System by accurately summarizing specific examples and instances showcased on the website.

Objective 2: Understanding of Ecosystem Diversity and Conservation: Students will demonstrate an understanding of the biodiversity within the Wekiva River System by listing and describing various wildlife species and their roles in the ecosystem. Furthermore, they will identify and articulate the importance of conservation efforts highlighted on the website in sustaining the integrity of the Wekiva River System.

Objective 3: Application of Information Retrieval Skills: Students will navigate the Wekiva Wild and Scenic River System Comprehensive River Management Plan proficiently, effectively gathering information on its location, size, significance, outstandingly remarkable values, wildlife, and conservation efforts. They will compile comprehensive notes or a presentation summarizing their findings in an organized and coherent manner.

Science Standards:

SC.6.E.6.1: Recognize that water, rocks, soil, and living organisms are found on Earth's surface.
SC.7.L.17.1: Compare and contrast the characteristics of ecosystems, habitats, and niches.
SC.912.L.17.5: Analyze changes in an ecosystem resulting from changes in abiotic and biotic factors, including climate, and illustrate the complexity of these changes through a food web.

SS.6.G.2.3: Describe the physical processes that affect the environments of places, including erosion, weathering, and the cycling of water.
SS.912.G.1.5: Analyze the relationships among physical processes that shape Earth's surface.
