Our goal is to enhance the Oxford, MA community and surrounding areas through providing art, music, educational programs, workshops, and networking. Friends of Oxford Free Public Library, Inc. helps Oxford Library purchase museum, zoo, and aquarium discount passes to provide access to our community. We were incorporated in 1992 with the purpose of maintaining a membership of people who are supportive of the library, to focus library attention to library services, facilities, and needs, and to create gifts of books, magazines, collections, endowments and bequests that enhance our community and Oxford Library.
We help our library and community with the help of people like you. We accept book donations to raise money at our book and bake sales- fun for all ages! We have an annual fundraising dinner and collect membership funds as well as donations which are tax deductible. We hope you will consider supporting our group at any level. Friends of Oxford Free Public Library Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization whose purpose is to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs and to communicate the needs of the community to the staff and library trustees.
We've helped fund the children's, teen, and adult programming at Oxford Free Public Library to cover a wide array of facility and community needs. We helped the children's room acquire new furniture and toys. We have funded children's song, dance, science, and puppet shows, arts workshops and more. We have funded adult jewelry making workshops, herb garden classes, gift making workshops, and many community talks, classes and arts programs. We provide gifts such as kindles, cooking sets, book sets, toys, and more for reading rewards. We also support the library Museum Pass Program sponsoring the Davis Farmland, Davis MegaMaze, Roger Williams Park Zoo, Museum of Science, Boston Children's Museum and others. Upon request by the library Director and/or staff, we have funded supplies necessary for the ongoing programs within the library. On occasion, we have bought necessary items needed at the library that are, otherwise, not funded by the town budget. We are open to feedback from our community as to what programs they would like to have at Oxford Free Public Library and we communicate with library staff and trustees to fill those needs.
Friends of Oxford Free Public Library, Inc. is a proud member of the Massachusetts Friends of Libraries (MFOL)
