Dress Code for 2023-24
The following apparel items are acceptable provided that they are clean, in good condition and otherwise consistent with the above-referenced purpose:
1. Shoes must be worn. No slippers. No flip flops or sandals for PK-8.
2. Hair that is well groomed. Not allowed: Hats/Sunglasses
3. Trousers, jeans, skirts, dresses, shirts, shorts, sweaters, and blouses provided that such items are of conventional length. Not allowed: Ripped pants/jeans that expose skin on the upper-thigh or above, or reveal their undergarments, tank tops and low-cut tops. (All shirts must have sleeves.) Shirts, blouses, and sweaters that do not come to the top of the pants and/or expose skin when seated/standing. Articles that reveal the back, chest, upper-thigh, or undergarments. Shirts must fully cover the stomach. Clothing that contains insignias, advertisements, symbols, words, patches, or pictures that endanger or interfere with the health and welfare of any student or cause substantial and material disruption to, or direct interference with, the educational process. 4. Athletic wear- this does NOT “Biker” or spandex-type shorts. Leggings/yoga pants are to be worn with a top that reaches to the midthigh.
Drop-off and Pick-up Information
Arrival: 8:30-8:45
Walkers: Use main side walk to enter through Front Doors
Car drop off: Use the loop in a SINGLE Lane. Drop off and exit the loop. No parking. Students enter the Front Door.
Bus: Students will exit buses on South side of building and enter the building through the gym.
Tardy Bell is at 9:00!
Dismissal: 3:10 - 3:30
Walkers : Use main sidewalk to exit building and walk to Brush St. The crossing is just south of the school.
Car Pick up : Form two lanes around the main loop. Display your child’s sign in your window. An adult will walk your child to your car. Be patient - especially early!
Bus : Students will be walked to their bus by an adult.
* Note - Exact times for all dismissal procedures will be given once we establish bus times.
All elementary school buildings are currently participating in CEP (the Community Eligibility Program) which allows all of our elementary students to have a free breakfast and free lunch.
Smencils will be sold again this school year on Monday and Wednesday before school in Mrs. Hetrick's classroom. Money raised benefits our Otis School PTO.
