What will you study in Geography at OAFreeston?
you will study the following units:

Hey Guys,
My name is Miss Laing and I'm one of the Geography teachers here in Freeston and guess what ‘I love Geography’. I love all the exploring, learning and fun that the subject has to offer and I really hope that I can pass the passion for the subject on. I could teach Geography all day and I can't wait to help you become a better Geographer and learn all about the world that surrounds us.
I grew up in Scotland and then I moved to N.Ireland when I was very young.
I live here in Yorkshire not too far away from school but I do love to go home to N.Ireland to visit my family and friends. I have a different accent to many people who live in Yorkshire but you will get used to it.

I love to travel and explore new places.
I rescued my dog Meggie who is now very spoiled and naughty.
I have climbed the highest mountain in England (Scafell Pike), and I can't wait to climb Ben Nevis which is the highest mountain in the UK.

Hi everyone,
My name is Mrs Empsall and I am one of the Year 11 Geography teachers. This year we have had to show our resilience and adapt to new challenges and the same goes for our usual open evening where we would show you our amazing department. I especially like teaching about hazards and the powerful earth we live on, it’s an amazing place and I can’t wait to teach you more.
I’m a local, as I was born and raised in Pontefract, I studied Geography at university in Huddersfield and then completed my teacher training in Sheffield. When I qualified I taught in Bradford for 12 years, in this time I moved to Normanton and when a job came up at Freeston I couldn’t believe my luck! I had to have it and I’ve been here 6 years.
Cool things about me
I have only had 10 birthdays
I have a little boy who is 7
I have been backpacking round America and Malaysia (I have visited a rainforest and have the scars to prove it!)
I love going on holiday with my family and teaching my little boy some Geography where-ever we are.
