A personal welcome from our Principal 

 Dear Parents/Carers and Students

 Firstly, welcome to the Outwood Academy Freeston Information Evening  Site!  We are very much looking forward to working with parents and carers to support all young people with their learning this year.

We have an exciting year ahead of us in Year 11.  Autumn two week assessments start Monday 11th November.  Then the spring mock exams begin Monday 3rd March for two weeks, this is the final opportunity for students to experience the routines and exams before the real ones in the summer.  Attendance for these is critical.

The final exams start in May and finish 25th June - please do not book any holidays during this period.  We cannot move the real exams for any reason - all students across the entire country sit them at exactly the same time.

I have also shared with students the criteria to go to prom which is on the 9th July.  A positive attitude and commitment to learning is imperative to success and our criteria is based on this.

This website is for you.  We are updating it with information, ideas, frequently asked questions, advice, plus other areas we thought you might want to read about.

We have lots to look forward to this year and we are very excited about working together to get the very best for your child.
